We Said "Yes" To The Venue
Sometimes I pinch myself because I still cant believe I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend! It is such a great and surreal feeling. Of course, after the engagement comes all the wedding planning. I could not wait to set up my Pinterest board and dive on in. After my fiancé and I were engaged we sat down and started talking about the type of wedding we wanted. We are very similar and knew that we wanted it to be natural, simple, yet elegant.
After months of scouring the internet and wedding blogs for venue sites in Orlando we came across a few venues, my fiancé and I wanted to look at. The first step in planning a wedding is finding a venue that you love and will fit the amount of guests you want to invite. This past weekend we set up to see three different sites, but when we drove up to the first venue at 9:30 am we both looked at each other and said, "We have to be married here." Cypress Grove Estate is the most beautiful historic house. and it was so peaceful out by the lake. After viewing the site we took a risk and put down our non-refundable deposit to secure our January 9th wedding date!
We had always been told to make sure you have a few options and do not jump to fast on the first venue. I mean we still had 2 more sites to look at, but our hearts told us this was too good to be true. It was everything we could want (it also is super affordable for a large wedding, and that's is ALWAYS a plus). So, we decided even though we put a deposit down we would look at the two other sites. The lesson I always learn, and what I learned Saturday is that your heart never steers you wrong! We took a chance on the first venue we looked at, and it was definitely our favorite!
Now that our venue is booked, its time to send out the "Save the Dates," and we cant wait! Let us all know if you have any wedding tips. Leave them in the comment section below. :)
