The Don Cesar

I know we are all waving summer goodbye because the first day of Fall is finally upon us, and to be honest I have already downed multiple pumpkin coffees, lit the fall candles, and turned the A/C down so I can throw on a knit sweater (I live in South Florida, it is still incredibly HOT!) but I put it on hold for a little and soaked in the warm summer weather these past few days. My mom, sister, and I did a girls’ trip to St. Pete Beach and stayed at The Don Cesar. I’m a sucker for a cute hotel, so when we pulled up to this pink palace I was immediately in heaven!

I loved everything from the pink architecture, lush palm trees that lined the grounds, to the tropical breeze, and ocean front views. It put us in immediate relaxed vacation mode. We spent most of our time lounging by one of the two pools, and beach. The pool grill had the best cocktails and mock-tails. Our favorites were the Strawberry Lemonade Basil frozen mock-tail and the Don Stormy (similar to a Moscow Mule). They also would come around with complimentary tasty treats throughout the day for guests. The entire staff on property were absolutely wonderful and went out of their way to make sure every guest had a great time.

We headed to St. Pete to see Hanson perform live at Jannus Live. I imagine how I felt seeing my favorite childhood band play is similar to when my parents see the Eagles perform. I would always tease my mom watching her fan girl and revert to her younger self while singing along to their music. So fast forward to me now, and out came my inner 10 year old heart fan girl’ing while singing and dancing to every song and I’m owning it..haha!

I have a few friends who live in the Tampa area so before we headed over I made sure to get a few restaurant recommendations. One of the recommendations was Annata Wine Bar. We loved this trendy spot a few blocks away from the venue. We munched on cheese plates, pasta, and a few glasses of wine. We left full and completely satisfied. I would go back just for a wine date with girlfriends or my husband. If you are in the Tampa/St.Pete area I would recommend to check it out. The restaurant was also on a strip of road with other really cute dining options that we wish we had more time to check out. Rain check for next time!

The morning after the concert we decided to order room service for breakfast. The hotel had an amazing selection to choose from. It would not be vacation without being able to drink our morning coffee together while staying in bed. We do not order room service often because we tend to enjoy scouting local places to eat but when we do, we always enjoy the extra few minutes of zz’s.

The one thing we all agreed on was that our trip was way too short! Two days was just not long enough to soak in this little piece of tropical paradise. This resort was the perfect getaway we have all been desperately needing and it was nice to get some quality time together. I told my husband that I want to head back for a mini getaway just the two of us. I'm pretty sure I can convince him it is necessary, what do you think?!
