It is still so surreal every time I get to introduce Rob as my HUSBAND! This is our first week back to work after our week long honeymoon in Cancun Mexico and we are still mourning room service and unlimited champagne... seriously though! I decided to share a few of our favorite memories from the trip and our thoughts about the resort. We hope you enjoy.
The above picture is from the Cenote Ik Kil. This is one of the cenotes in the Yucatan that visitors are able to enjoy a swim. Rob and I got caught up in being surrounded by the beauty of nature! We even learned there is a boutique hotel on the property for visitors who want to enjoy the day swimming in the cenotes and then touring the Mayan city of Chichen-Itza.
My advice to anyone visiting the Yucatan is make a point to take a step back in time by visiting Chichen-Itza. Rob and I still cannot wrap our minds around how the Mayan people were able to construct such massive temples. Our guide taught us about meanings behind the pictures carved on their stone walls and behind each structure. It was an amazing learning experience.
When we finished our tours we ended up eating at a local Mayan restaurant right outside of Chichen-Itza. Rob and I love the opportunity to step outside the resort and mingle with the local people and try their different cuisines. We also can never say no to authentic Mexican!
We stayed at the all inclusive, Finest Playa Mujeres, in Cancun! This resort was beyond amazing. The customer service and attention to detail cannot be praised enough. The staff at the resort really went out of their way to make our vacation one of the best! We gave it two-thumbs up.
It rained several days while we were there so we ended up booking some couple spa treatments. If you visit the resort, I would highly recommend visiting the One Spa. We spent a few hours unwinding, which was much needed after a year of planning a wedding.
If you have any questions and want to know anything further about the resort, please leave a comment below!
