It is no secret our family is a huge fan of the ocean and island retreats. I mean we have always lived within a half hour of the ocean and now in West Palm Beach we walk to the water front. A few weeks ago I took over Winsome's Instagram to feature some snap shots of our vacation in the Caribbean islands. Everything from the food, to the water, to the people hold a special place in my heart! I have compiled a few of my favorite places I visited this time around.
1. Trunk Bay in St. Johns: Trunk Bay is part of the Virgin Islands National Park. The water is the most magnificent clear blue color. Anytime we are in St. Thomas, we take the ferry over to St. John for the day just so we can relax on this beautiful beach. There is a charge to enter as the money goes to the national park system to keep the beach beautiful.
2. Old San Juan: If you are a history buff like I am then you should definitely take an afternoon to visit old San Juan. We took one day away from the ocean to walk around the old historic town.
3. Bacardi Factory- Puerto Rico: If you are over 21 then I would advise you to check out the Bacardi Factory in Puerto Rico. The Bacardi Factory takes you on a tour of the facilities and you have the option of doing a rum tasting or a mixology class. We decided on the mixology class because we are not fans of straight rum. We can now say we kill it at making a mojito from scratch!
